Allergies in Dogs or Cats

Just like us, dogs and cats get allergies, and it is probably more common than you think. Certain breeds are more prone than others, but any animal can be allergic to anything- from foods to dust to grass, ragweed and even trees!

Did you know that the #1 cause for ear infections is allergies?  Or that when your pet licks and chews at their feet (or elsewhere), it is likely itchy?  Other symptoms include skin redness and rashes, itchy/watery and red eyes, an irritated hind end, and intermittent diarrhea.

There is no “cure” for allergies but they are most effectively dealt with if you start before your pet is in the middle of a full-blown flare up.  We have lots of ways to manage allergy symptoms, and we want to help keep your furry family members comfortable!  There are a variety of supplements, shampoos, prescription diets, medications and even tests designed specifically for allergic pets.
