Safeguard your feline friend from harmful diseases with a vaccination plan.
Kittens do receive some immunity from their mom then it is up to us to continue building their immune system. During your first visit, we will not only do a complete physical exam and vaccines but you will also benefit from a nutritional and behavioural consult. Don’t hesitate to ask us anything!
Kittens usually receive their first vaccine around the age of 8 weeks. We generally recommend kittens stay with their “mom” until that time.
Kittens are usually vaccinated at 8, 12 and 16 weeks. This helps to ensure they are fully protected.
The core vaccines for kittens are FVRCP and rabies. Feline leukemia is recommended for kittens as well. Each year your cat’s lifestyle will be assessed to determine the vaccine program specifically tailored to your pet.
While most kittens do not experience side effects, the most common side effect they may experience is sleepiness. This only occurs in a small percentage. It is rare that a kitten has a severe reaction. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to call.
